Caring for a loved one with dementia can feel overwhelming. The stress, confusion, and emotional burden of caregiving are real—and too many family caregivers in Wyoming try to face it alone.

The Dementia Caregiver Support Group Cheyenne meets monthly at the Laramie County Library, offering a safe, understanding space to share experiences, ask questions, and receive encouragement from others who truly understand what you are going through.

🗓 Important Schedule Update:

For the months of November and December, our meetings will be held on the third Friday instead of the fourth due to the holidays.

Updated Dates and Location:

  • Friday, November 21, 2025

  • Friday, December 19, 2025

📍 Cottonwood Room – First Floor, Laramie County Library2:00–3:00 PM

We will return to our usual fourth Friday schedule in January 2026.

These gatherings are an opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of caring for someone with dementia. Whether you’re supporting a loved one at home or in the community, you’ll find encouragement, shared wisdom, and a reminder that you’re not alone on this journey.

The group is facilitated by Amy Shaw, PA-C, a nationally recognized dementia care specialist and Medical Director for three memory care communities—one in Wyoming and two in Illinois. Amy brings years of experience helping families understand the “what, when, and why” of dementia—so they can master the “how” of caregiving with greater confidence and compassion.

Many caregivers say that being part of a group like this helps them feel calmer, more confident, and better equipped to navigate daily challenges. Simply listening—or sharing your own story—can make a powerful difference.

The group is free and open to anyone caring for a loved one with dementia. No registration is required; just come as you are.
