Coffee mug, book, and reading glasses on a white table — a calm space for learning about dementia caregiving
Starting your dementia caregiving journey? BetterDementia.com offers expert dementia care strategies, weekly caregiver tips, and compassionate guidance — all in one place.

I am thrilled to welcome you to BetterDementia.com — a new home for expert guidance, grounded insight, and compassionate support for dementia caregivers.

As the founder of Better Dementia and a medical provider specializing in dementia care, I created this platform to serve as a central hub for everything I offer:

  • Weekly insights that shed light on the dementia journey without overwhelming you with medical jargon

  • Actionable tips to help you begin navigating common caregiving challenges

  • Online courses (coming soon!) for deeper, step-by-step guidance you can put to use right away

  • Monthly newsletter with practical tools, blog highlights, and curated resources for caregivers

This site is for you — the family member who didn’t expect to become a caregiver, the friend trying to understand what is happening, the healthcare provider hungry for more practical training, and the loved one determined to preserve dignity in the face of decline.

You may know me from my medical work in dementia memory care, or perhaps from my book The Arc of Conversation, which teaches how to talk about goals of care. With the launch of this site, I am turning my full attention to dementia — to teaching the “what, when, and why” of the dementia journey so caregivers can master the “how” of caregiving.

Check back weekly for new posts. We will cover everything from common behaviors and medication questions to how to communicate with someone who no longer understands words — and how to protect your own health while doing it all.

And don’t forget — sign up for my newsletter and blog post updates to get each week’s post delivered right to your inbox. That way, you never miss a chance to learn something that could make your caregiving journey easier, calmer, or more effective.

Thank you for being here. I know this journey is hard, but you do not have to do it alone.
